WHAT IS YOUR VERMONT STORY?
Are you a ninth generation Vermonter, and never wanted to live anywhere else? Are you a boomerang, a Vermonter that left but came back? Are you tied to Vermont by school, friends or family, or an outdoor activity?
SHARE YOUR STORY WITH SOMEONE NEW TO VERMONT. WHY?
To keep them here in Vermont! Many of our brave little state’s issues can be resolved by attracting and retaining new folks. More people means more support for local businesses, better funding for schools, and …. We are building a diverse, inclusive network of folks that understand the need for Vermont to grow. Our hypothesis is that if you can help people get connected and integrated in to the community in meaningful ways faster, we will be able to better retain great people and talent in our state.
HOW CAN YOU DO THIS? VOLUNTEER WITH US!
Fill out this form with some info about yourself: just the basics, your county, and your interests. Are you part of an organization, with a network of folks? Fantastic! Each time a newbie inquires, we will blast our networks to get this person or family connected to THREE individuals or organizations.
WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTED TO DO?
Spend time with those new to Vermont. Have them over for dinner, go for a hike, or include them in your regular card game/ultimate frisbee match/whatever. Exchange your Vermont stories, and explain how you find community. Even one visit can make someone new feel welcome, and give them a better picture of what life in Vermont can be.
